Developed by Chris Taylor and Gas Powered Games RG Mechanics, it’s a blend of action, role-playing and real-time strategy that offers a clear take on the unrivaled Defense of the Ancients for Warcraft 3, popularly known as DotA. Unlike other “proper” RTSs, you don’t collect resources and clone units in barracks, but you control a single hero who takes swipes at neutral monsters and opponents’ heroes. Experience, money, buying valuable things – all as in the best houses of the role genre.
Demigod will be built on approximately the same principles. You control one of many “demigods” who are strikingly different from each other. Someone “travels” only with their own skills and physical strength, knocking out the opponent with a few blows, someone relies on the pot-bellied bauble summoned in large quantities. One of the heroes presented – Rook – is the deceased king, whose spirit personifies a rook walking on the battlefield with an impressive sledgehammer.
Of course, the bet in the game will be for network battles, especially for cooperative. A single-player mode is also included, but according to the developers themselves, this will be nothing more than a training ground before going online.
