Darkest of Days is dedicated to the topic of time travel, which is obvious but for some reason underutilized in shooters. The main character is Alexander Maurice, a soldier participating in the United States Civil War. During a bloody battle (not for an unnamed bridge, but for an important historical bridge), he witnesses an incredible event: a portal opens in the air, from which someone unexpectedly appears. In the heat of combat, the stranger manages to push the hero into a spatial void, but he himself dies. So it turns out that Maurice is in the future, where an organization is busy with all time theorists’ favorite job: influencing the present, changing key moments of the past. The company not only kills certain people, but also erases entire events in world history. We will have to confront this organization with Maurice, who is determined to establish an entire dynasty in the future. So his savior’s death was not in vain.
